Suzanne at the Elizabeth Solter Clinic
Suzanne Cline is a Certified Horsemanship Association Certified Master Instructor in both English and Western riding. Suzanne brings over 30 years of professional teaching to experience to her lessons.
Suzanne began riding at age twelve in her native North Carolina under the expert eye of Charlene Macmillan a noted 3 day event rider. She soon found that riding and teaching were her true passion. A CHA Certified Instructor by age 18, she continued to develop her skill as a rider throughout high school and college. Suzanne majored in Equine Science with an emphasis on equitation teaching at Morehead State University in Kentucky where she competed on the intercollegiate team in both Huntseat and Saddle seat Equitation.
Suzanne’s extensive background includes riding and teaching in a wide variety of venues from working with thoroughbreds at Keeneland race track to coaching the Collegiate Horsemen at Penn State as well as training several RIFNA high school show teams in Georgia. Her experience includes managing large lesson programs and a Warmblood breeding farm in Pennsylvania, working with the Girl Scouts of America and running many years of Equestrian Summer camps in North Carolina and Georgia.
As a rider she has continued to seek out ways to develop her skill by training with top level riders from several disciplines including 3 day event rider Charlene Macmillan, Hunter legend Elizabeth Sloter and, most recently, developing her skill as a Dressage rider with USDF Gold Medalist Debbie Hubbard and USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist Sarah Michaels.
Suzanne’s teaching philosophy incorporates the classical principles of Dressage with Modern Huntseat Equitation. Suzanne works with her students to building a solid foundation tailored to each student goals, regardless of what type of riding you enjoy. Her lessons are challenging and fun with each lesson building upon the last.
